Designed Space with Little Ones in Mind
Designing Spaces with Little Ones in Mind (Without Sacrificing Style)
At Click This Design That, we’re firm believers that having little ones in your life doesn’t mean sacrificing beauty in your home. In fact, we love designing rooms that celebrate childhood while still feeling polished, purposeful, and oh-so-pretty. Whether it’s a dreamy nursery, a playful shared space, or a stylish room for your growing girl, thoughtful design can meet your family’s needs and match your aesthetic.
We’ve recently completed a round of designs that show just how seamless—and stunning—family-friendly spaces can be.
Adventure-Inspired Playroom
This mountain-themed playroom is built for imagination. We used soft, durable textures, kid-height furniture, and a calming neutral palette to keep things grounded. A climbing wall adds movement and challenge, while cozy poufs and a classic table-and-chair set invite creative play. Our favorite part? It’s playful without being chaotic.
Design tip: A neutral rug with subtle pattern hides messes and holds up beautifully in high-traffic kid zones.
2. A Luxe Girl’s Room That Still Feels Playful
This room is full of personality! We paired feminine touches (hello, butterfly art and boucle bench) with classic patterns and tailored furniture. Crystal lighting and soft gold details elevate the space, while cozy layers keep it feeling just right for a little one to grow into.
Design tip: Choosing pieces that can grow with your child (like the nightstands and upholstered bed) means you won’t have to redecorate every year.
3. Soft Blue Nursery with Vaulted Ceilings
Serene and sweet, this nursery proves that baby rooms can be elevated. With a statement floral wallpaper, warm wood crib, and plush glider, this room feels like a breath of fresh air. We layered soft textures, kept the color palette gentle, and added personal touches (like the banner and gold sconces) to make it feel one-of-a-kind.
Design tip: A wallpaper feature wall paired with board and batten is timeless and transitional—perfect as baby grows.
4. Woodland Farmhouse Nursery
This one has all the cozy charm we love: soft sage tones, rustic beams, and a sweet woodland wallpaper that ties it all together. From the oversized personalized name sign to the vintage-inspired rocker, we built a space that feels warm, whimsical, and welcoming.
Design tip: Don’t be afraid to mix prints—wallpaper and vintage rugs can coexist beautifully when tied together by tone..
5. Don’t Be Afraid of Style
Just because it’s kid-friendly doesn’t mean it has to be primary-colored or plastic. We often include soft textures, muted palettes, and beautiful art—even in nurseries and playrooms. The goal? A home that feels calm, collected, and completely you… even if you’ve watched Bluey three times today.
